I absolutely loved the staff and program at Gateway West. They really go above and beyond for each and every one of their clients. You are treated and will feel like an actual human being instead of just another dollar in someone’s pocket. Even the staff that works front desk, maintenance, kitchen, nursing...EVERYONE can and will go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. I had never been to an inpatient treatment center even though I’d had been using hard drugs for over 13 years...my DOC 10. I was extremely grateful I chose this location over any other place. I brought myself in the first time. My original plan was just do the 28 days and go home. But as my time flew by, I decided that I needed more time to work things out. And I was given an extension. I thank the intake counselor and the women’s unit counselors/director for that. I went to a half way house right after my discharge. Then continued with my after care with IOP at the same location. Which only made me fall in love with the same more. My IOP counselor was absolutely amazing. She, even with her own very busy life that expanded beyond GW, Really listened and gave amazing feed back. I’ve done many hours/years IOP at other places, and none of them could compare or even come close to GW. I ended up missing curfew at my halfway house and was asked to leaveggggt then decided to use bc of it. I, not wanting to go back to my middle of no where-no jobs-no public transit-everyone in your business-drug ridden town, immediately called the intake counselor here at GW and asked if a bed was open and got right in. Now this part is on me, but this time around I wasn’t very engaged. I just wanted to get into a different HWH ASAP. It didn’t happen as I planned. I was sent to the hospital for having a severe migraine that I had the entire time I was there. When I was discharged from the hospital I just didn’t return to Gateway. (BIGGEST MISTAKE IVE DONE IN A LONG TIME) I had no plan. I became homeless and relapsed harder than I ever have in the past. Because of that I didn’t have anywhere to take my property. aka everything I own; make-up/accessories, clothes including shoes, books, hygiene products,...etc EVERYTHING since I went there directly after I left my sober living house) I called a few days later and they had packed up my belongings that was in the room. I ended up being banned from the property. Which made it difficult to pick up my stuff. I called and called and called and was given the run around. I was finally given a time to pick it up. This is where I feel I was really let down by GW. I came there with 2 suit cases (one huge and one travel on size), 2 large duffel bags, 3 reusable shopping bags, a laundry basket, and a large laundry cart. All completely full. When I came to pick it up, they had one suitcase with the 2 empty duffel bags inside. Nothing else. Absolutely NONE of the things I had in my room on the unit. It was a Friday and was told I had to talk to and give a detailed list to the unit director about what I was missing on Monday. Which I did. No one returned my call. I kept calling/leaving messages. Eventually, I was told that’s all they had of mine. Even after explaining that wasn’t even everything I had in the laundry room storage closet. Sorry, Long story short— got ZERO of my stuff. That’s why I gave them 4 out of 5 stars instead of the whole 5

This place truly saved me from a life of pain, dispare, hopelessness, I did the inpatient care and it was eye opening , I wasn't alone the counselors were great as well as the physiatrist and the doctors the hole staff in general. Being with people who were taking the steps to a clean, sober living was truly a humble experience I thank them for sharing their life struggles, experiences. It's been 1 year since I've taken this step to save myself from the chains of alcoholism and I haven't looked back! Truly amazing place. Today I write this review as I sit around sober people and their friends and families while enjoying a day of kickball tournament. I wouldn't have it any other way... my life is great and it's only getting better now that I could deal with the ups and downs it has to offer... if you need help DO NOT hesitate to pick up the phone or drive to Gateway.. if your serious about soberiety this is the start!

Absolutely an excellent rehab. I just finished their intensive inpatient rehab program, and it transformed my life! I can't wait to start their independent living/intensive outpatient rehab program! Excellent counselors, excellent therapists, and the food is pretty good too! From the counselors, to the cafeteria staff, to the janitors and maintenance men, these people care about their clients, and it really really shows. They will take time out to sit and help you with ANY problems, or just listen if you need someone to talk to. I can't stress how awesome this place is. It's not perfect, because no place is, but it's pretty darn close!
